The Silicon Valley Mercury News reports that a man has been arrested for a DUI as a result of the Golden Gate Bridge crash last weekend that closed several lanes of traffic and resulted in serious injuries.
A 37-year-old Colman man has been arrested on charges of driving under the influence after his Mercedes SL550 rear-ended another vehicle in the southbound lane, which then veered across lanes and into the northbound lanes and into oncoming traffic.
In California and throughout the United States, drunk driving is one of the leading causes of auto accidents and represents 40% of the total traffic deaths. If you have been injured in a drunk driving accident, it is important to contact an experienced Davis personal injury attorney to protect your legal rights. Victims injured by negligent drunk drivers face medical bills, loss of wages, physical pain and emotional distress. Many times, it may be able to recover compensation for your damages.
Here, several issues factor affect the injured right to compensation. Not only was the driver who caused the accident potentially DUI, but several reports also indicate that a long standing problem - the lack of barriers between the north and south bound lanes contribute to the potential for dangerous accidents.
Because of the variety of factors involved as well as their potential impact on your right to recovery, it is always best to contact a knowledgeable Davis personal injury lawyer if you or a family member has sustained injuries as the result of another's negligence.
